About CORD-CHD
CORD-CHD is a multi-center randomized clinical trial conducted at multiple hospitals across the United States and Canada. The aim of the trial is to find the best timing of umbilical cord clamping in neonates born with congenital heart disease. Studies have shown that delaying umbilical cord clamping can be beneficial to neonates; however, those with congenital heart disease have not been included in large, multi-center studies. This trial will provide evidence to determine the effectiveness of delayed cord clamping on postnatal and neurodevelopmental outcomes of neonates with congenital heart disease.
